Description
Beinn a' Chlaidheimh in Wester Ross, Highland, rises as a purple pointed peak beyond tawny open ground, with pale slabs and rusty shrubs lending warmth to the remote mountain outlook.
Within the Dundonnell and Fisherfield Forest, this steep mountain is often included in the Fisherfield Six round. A precise survey found its summit just below the 3,000 foot threshold, leading to its reclassification from Munro to Corbett in 2012.
The pointed mass of Beinn a' Chlaidheimh stands above a shallow sweep of orange moorland. Strong blue shadows mark its craggy front, with small snow patches surviving on the higher ridges behind. Pale broken slabs cross the near ground among dark russet plants. Long bands of white cloud fill a bright blue sky. Golden vegetation and distant snow suggest a clear, cool autumn afternoon in the hills.
