Description
Beinn an Tuirc (Kintyre) rises north of Campbeltown in Argyll and Bute, where broad upland slopes, forest plantations and wind turbines give the peninsula's highest hill a recognisable modern skyline.
North of Campbeltown, the highest hill on the peninsula reaches about 454 metres. Its slopes support an established wind farm, with the original development commissioned in 2001, placing renewable energy generation within the wooded uplands of western Scotland's long coastal finger.
Beinn an Tuirc (Kintyre) stretches across the background as a low brown ridge carrying a line of white turbines. Dense conifers cover the nearer hills, divided by narrow green clearings. Rust coloured heath and gold grass occupy the foreground bank. The warm vegetation suggests early autumn, while bright blue sky and broad white clouds keep the forested view clear and open.
