Description
Beinn Liath Mhòr (Torridon) in Wester Ross, Highland, presents a pale rocky spine above deep blue lochans, with distant jagged peaks extending the open mountain view towards the horizon.
Between Strath Carron and Glen Torridon, the mountain reaches 926 metres in Wester Ross. Its long high ridge stands among a landscape of nearby lochs and neighbouring peaks, with an end-on profile that appears particularly sharp when seen from the west.
A narrow trail winds over the pale broken crest of Beinn Liath Mhòr (Torridon). Grey slabs and green turf alternate along the steep slope, which falls towards two dark blue pools on the right. A longer ribbon of water leads into the distance beneath jagged blue mountains. Cream clouds and clear sunshine suggest summer, with the snow free rock revealing every ledge along the exposed spine.
