Description
Beinn Udlaidh in Argyll glows orange above a dark belt of conifers, with purple heath and peach clouds deepening the warm colours of an autumn evening scene.
A broad summit plateau crowns this 840 metre Corbett near Tyndrum, on the Glen Orchy side of the Grampians. Its northern corries and conspicuous quartzite dyke distinguish the mountain, whose gentler upper ground contrasts with the steeper faces around its edges.
Here Beinn Udlaidh catches warm light across a wide, layered face. Orange and gold slopes rise above a deep band of conifers, with mauve shadows marking the summit cliffs. Long grasses and purple heath occupy the foreground beneath peach coloured clouds. These colours suggest an autumn evening, when the dark forest sharpens the brightness of the exposed mountain above.
