Description
Ben Armine (Creag a' Choire Ghlais) in the northern Highlands rises beyond a small blue lochan, its green rocky crown overlooking grassy moor and a winding burn in summer sunshine.
North of Lairg, the Ben Armine hills occupy a remote part of inland Sutherland. The best known summit reaches 705 metres and lies southeast of Ben Klibreck. Its southern neighbour, Creag Mhòr, is slightly higher, within a range set well away from the main settlements.
Below Ben Armine (Creag a' Choire Ghlais), the scene follows a narrow stream through tussocky grass towards a low lochan. Beyond, a broad green hill carries scattered grey outcrops and a steeper shaded edge on the left. Broad cloud shadows travel across the flat basin, while cream cumulus fills the blue sky above the rounded, snow free summer heights.
