Description
Ben Hee in the northern Highlands brings a broad rocky mountain above an open sweep of moor and lochan, with subdued greens and tawny grass under soft passing clouds.
Ben Hee rises to 873 metres in Sutherland, in the far northern Scottish Highlands. Its rounded western slopes contrast with the crags and corries on the eastern side. Classified as a Corbett, it is the highest summit among the surrounding lower, more rounded hills.
The scene looks across low rolling ground towards a wide grey crown with a deep hollow on the right. A narrow burn cuts down the face, while a pale blue lochan rests in the flats below. Long bands of yellow brown grass lead through the foreground between smooth rock outcrops. Broken cloud softens the light across the snow free summer slopes.
