Description
Ben Vane (Arrochar Alps) in Argyll rises through peach coloured mist, its snowy crest and purple foreground heath catching the last warmth beneath an orange evening sun.
At about 915 metres, this compact mountain just exceeds the height required for Munro status. Its rocky slopes lead to a small summit plateau, with Loch Sloy and Ben Vorlich visible to the north east and the neighbouring western mountains beyond the deep glens.
Ben Vane (Arrochar Alps) emerges from a thick layer of peach coloured cloud, its dark ridges streaked with snow. More pointed summits rise behind it, beneath an orange sun and mauve sky. Gold grass, purple heath and dark boulders fill the near slope. Residual white patches and warm lower vegetation suggest a clear spring evening above the mist.
