Description
On the Berwickshire Coastal Path, a narrow footway climbs grassy cliffs towards a red-topped beacon, with ruined towers and bright North Sea water stretching beyond the headland.
Ruined stone towers hold the high ground above the shore, their dark forms set against bands of white cloud. Below, indented rocks meet deep blue water, while a low dry-stone edge follows the rising route. The red lantern on the headland gives a small, precise point of colour in the open coast.
The Berwickshire Coastal Path is remembered through its repeated shifts between cliff-top walking and sheltered coves. This stretch keeps the route's sea air and exposed ground in view, inviting anyone who has followed it to linger over the line of coast ahead.
