Description
Bewl Water is viewed across still blue water, where a green-domed intake tower and arched bridge rise beside wooded slopes and sunlit fields beyond.
A tall pine frames the left edge, and pale rocks step down through heather and scrub. The circular masonry chamber has narrow windows, ribbed metal roofing and a small gilt finial. Its long walkway stands on repeated piers, casting dark reflections across the reservoir; distant farmland is cut into soft green bands.
At Bewl Water, the distinctive tower gives the reservoir a human scale among the trees and low hills. Visitors can follow the line of the structure from the near bank into the open distance, while those who know the water will recognise how the surrounding fields make the broad surface feel sheltered.
