Description
Binnein Beag in the Highland Mamores forms a pale rocky pyramid against peach evening clouds, with gold light on its steep flanks and purple heather across the near hillside.
At the eastern end of the Mamores, Binnein Beag stands seven kilometres north northeast of Kinlochleven. This conical peak reaches 943 metres and is classed as a Munro. A high pass links it with the larger Binnein Mòr, and the two are often climbed together.
The summit rises almost centrally, its pale scree face divided by narrow strips of green. Warm light catches the right hand ridge, while the opposite flank slips into mauve shade. Layered peaks and a glimpse of water recede behind it. Purple heather and rounded grey boulders cover the foreground, giving the sunset scene the rich colour of late summer in the mountains.
