Description
Birling Gap opens across pale chalk cliffs to a bright sweep of sea, with a coastal path leading towards the headland and lighthouse, above the shifting Channel.
A narrow track follows the crest of the green headland, bending past low scrub towards the white cliff edge. Farther along, the lighthouse stands above the slope, while small buildings and a steep staircase mark the shore below. Bands of cream chalk and turquoise water meet along the right side beneath a clear sky.
Birling Gap lies between the Seven Sisters and Beachy Head, where high paths look out over the English Channel. The contrast of bright cliffs, open water and rolling grass gives the view a fresh, breezy character. It makes an uplifting choice for a hallway or holiday home, especially for anyone who remembers walking the coast in changing sea air.
