Description
Bow Fiddle is the sea arch that Moray's coast is known for, seen from a grassy cleft above a hidden cove of pale shingle.
Two steep slopes of moss-green turf and grey stone funnel the view to a bright sliver of beach. Out in the blue water the rock leans like a ship's hull, its arch rising on the right side with lichen-green streaks down its flank. Smaller reefs break the surface and sunlit clouds sit along the horizon.
Bow Fiddle stands off Portknockie, where quartzite has been carved by the North Sea into a perfect bow shape. Coastal walkers will know the path down to this view, and the deep teal sea suits a bright hall or a bathroom.
