Braeriach rises above a blue corrie loch and broad moorland, its pale upper slopes catching the clear light of the Cairngorms in the open air.

A dark, sharply cut rock face gives way to long green flanks, while pale screes trace the mountain's high shoulder. Small cloud forms pass across a turquoise sky and the loch rests in a hollow below, edged by ochre grass and scattered granite outcrops.

Braeriach draws walkers into the scale of the western Cairngorms, where a distant summit can govern the whole day. This view holds the loch far below the ridge and the open approach above it, recalling the steady climb, clean air and changing ground underfoot in every direction.
