Description
Broad Law fills the skyline above layered green valleys, dark woodland and rounded ridges in a clear, open view across the Scottish Borders in the clear light of an open day.
The supplied note describes Broad Law as viewed from Clyde Law, and The Scottish Borders is the region given. The view looks over a succession of rolling hills, with the named summit at the far side of the valley. Woodland bands and open slopes fill the intervening ground, keeping the view broad and uninterrupted.
A pale grassy rise occupies the foreground, followed by a dense belt of dark trees. Beyond it, green and golden slopes alternate across the valley before meeting the broad summit in the distance. Smaller ridges overlap along the horizon. White cloud masses drift into the blue sky, while the restrained palette of greens and ochres keeps attention on the contours of the land.
