Description
Buidhe Bheinn in the western Highlands rises beyond blue water and low rocky islands, its sunlit triangular crest lifting above ochre grass and the rounded shoulders of surrounding mountains.
Buidhe Bheinn occupies rugged country between Glen Shiel and Loch Hourn in northwest Scotland. The mountain reaches about 886 metres and is classed as a Corbett. Approaches come from Kinloch Hourn or Kintail, crossing broken hill ground well beyond the nearest roads.
A sharp golden summit stands above several overlapping ridges, with dark rock ribs showing through the grass. In front, blue water spreads between low scrub covered promontories and small islands edged with pale stone. The near bank slopes down through dry yellow grass and green bushes. High white clouds and clear sunshine give the bare mountain shoulders a warm, late summer appearance.
