Description
Burnham Market in Norfolk gathers colourful houses around a broad village green, with spreading trees, climbing flowers and a gently curving road beneath the bright open sky of summer.
One of the Norfolk Burnhams, this village formed through the merger of Burnham Sutton, Burnham Ulph and Burnham Westgate. It lies northeast of King's Lynn and northwest of Norwich, with several historic churches reflecting the separate communities that developed into the present settlement.
At Burnham Market, cream, red brick and flint-fronted houses face a wide strip of closely cut grass. Mature trees cast intricate leaf shadows across the green. Roses climb around doors and windows beneath warm red roofs, while an unmarked grey road curves away between the lawns. White clouds and fresh foliage suggest clear sunshine in early summer.
