Description
Burnsall in North Yorkshire gathers beside the River Wharfe, where five stone arches connect green banks beneath rolling hills and the pale houses of this Yorkshire Dales village.
The Wharfe runs past Burnsall's village green in Wharfedale. Its five-arched bridge was reconstructed in 1885 after flood damage, and the Dales Way crosses here, making this North Yorkshire riverside settlement a stopping point on the walking route.
Pale arches step across turquoise water, their reflections darkening the spaces below. Cream cottages cluster beyond the right bank, while green fields rise into rounded hills. Boulders, grass and small white flowers fill the near edge. The leafy trees and open blue sky suggest a summer day, with sunlight emphasising the bridge's warm stone against the cool river.
