Description
Cambo in Northumberland belongs to the Wallington estate landscape, where warm stone cottages, flower-filled gardens and mature trees line a village lane beneath the soft colour of an evening sky.
The village of Cambo forms part of Wallington Demesne in Northumberland. It passed to the National Trust with the Wallington Estate in 1942, linking its buildings and rural setting with the nearby country house, woodland and designed gardens of the estate.
Steep gables and tall chimney stacks step along the right side of a quiet lane. Golden light catches the stone walls, while slate roofs remain cooler blue-grey. Pink climbing flowers and yellow garden borders gather around low walls and a white gate. Full leaves and abundant blooms suggest a summer evening, with peach clouds glowing above the treetops.
