Description
Càrn Mairg in Perthshire raises pale rounded crags above green corrie slopes, with low foreground boulders and small heather patches below broad cloud towers on a sunny summer afternoon.
This 1,042 metre mountain is the highest of the four Munros north of Glen Lyon above Invervar. Small summit crags distinguish it from the more rounded neighbouring hills. A circuit links the group, while an alternative from Fortingall follows Gleann Muilinn and can include Meall na Aighean.
Càrn Mairg rises in a cluster of pale rounded crags cut by dark narrow clefts. Green corrie slopes sweep below the rocky crown, divided by long blue shadows. Low boulders and small rust coloured heather patches line the near grassy ridge. Broad white clouds drift across a clear blue sky, suggesting settled midsummer weather across the open mountain slopes.
