Description
Claonaig in Argyll opens a sunlit view through leafy trees towards blue water and a copper coloured ridge, with a descending lane drawing the eye into the distance.
On Kintyre's eastern coast, the hamlet provides a seasonal ferry link to Lochranza on Arran. The crossing traverses Kilbrannan Sound, joining the long mainland peninsula with the island shore and making this small landing place part of a wider coastal route.
Claonaig is approached down a narrow road between grassy banks and trees. Utility poles follow the left edge, while a wire fence borders fields on the right. Beyond a pale shore, blue water separates the foreground from a rugged line of copper coloured mountains. Warm slanting light and gold touched foliage suggest an early autumn evening facing the sound.
