Description
Cleeve Hill in the Cotswolds offers a layered outlook over sunlit fields and pale houses, with near shrubs and a low stone boundary lending depth to the scene.
At 330 metres, Cleeve Hill is the highest point in both Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds. The hill carries Cleeve Common, a large area of open limestone grassland, giving the escarpment a broad upland surface rather than a sharply defined peak.
The long green ridge crosses the upper view, marked by small bushes and intersecting pale tracks. Houses sit among trees below its broken edge, while the near fields fall behind a low dry-stone wall. Grey boulders and tall grass enter at the bottom. Soft cloud shadows and full green foliage suggest a mild summer day with distant haze beyond the common.
