Description
Coates looks across a sunlit parish church and rolling Gloucestershire fields, where the square tower, stone wall and open pasture give the village a calm, high-country outlook.
The tower is finished with battlements, four pinnacles and tall louvred openings, rising from a long nave lined with pointed windows. A low churchyard wall runs across the slope, with a wooden gate at the lower edge. Oak canopies frame the foreground and patchwork fields recede through blue-green folds beyond.
