Description
Cockington in Devon gathers thatched cottages around a shaded village lane, with warm stone walls, leafy gardens and a small open-fronted forge beneath the blue sky of a bright summer day.
Near Torquay on the English Riviera, this historic village retains narrow lanes and thatched houses beside extensive country parkland. Its forge and water mill reflect an older working landscape, while Cockington Court stands within grounds combining woodland with open lawns and ornamental lakes.
At Cockington, thick thatched roofs slope above pale cottages and warm stone façades. An open-fronted forge stands on the left, facing a quiet grey junction. Small potted plants soften the opposite doorway, with climbing greenery over the boundary wall. A large leafy branch shades the nearest road, suggesting clear sunshine during a settled summer afternoon.
