Description
Corrieyairack Hill in the central Highlands overlooks winding moorland tracks and wooded folds, with gold grass, dark heather and a broad distant plateau under the peach glow of evening.
Corrieyairack Hill stands above the historic pass crossing the Monadhliath Mountains between the Great Glen and Badenoch. General Wade’s military road follows this high route, built in the eighteenth century. The crossing links lower woodland with open moor and the broad uplands around the pass.
Pale tracks curl through the rolling ground below, passing scattered leafy trees before turning around a low ridge on the right. Rust brown heather patches alternate with golden grass across the near slopes. A wide flat topped hill occupies the distance, its upper edge softened by mauve evening shade. Peach cloud banks spread above a warm orange horizon, suggesting an autumn sunset across the glen.
