Gustavs Klucis, a Latvian artist associated with the Russian Constructivist movement, utilised a rigorous geometric approach to typography and layout. The composition relies on a restricted palette of black, red, and off-white, which was characteristic of the era's avant-garde visual language. The title of the journal, Gorn, is rendered in large, bold, vertical letterforms that dominate the centre of the frame. These letters are integrated into a series of vertical bars, creating a rhythmic, architectural structure that flattens the pictorial space.

Klucis employed a collage technique, visible in the precise placement of the text elements. The surrounding Cyrillic text is arranged in a strict grid, framing the central title and providing a sense of order.
