Description
Crosby Beach pairs Anthony Gormley’s iron figure with a distant lighthouse, shallow water and wide sand, giving the Liverpool City Region coast a quiet, watchful presence.
A lone iron figure stands in the tidal shallows facing the open water, its weathered surface contrasting with pale sand and a soft blue sky. Behind it, a white lighthouse, low sea wall and red-roofed buildings set out a clear coastal edge. The water gathers thin reflections around the figure’s feet.
Crosby Beach has a particular pull when the tide changes around Antony Gormley’s Another Place figures. This view keeps that familiar encounter close, while the lighthouse and flat beach locate it within the Liverpool City Region’s wide seaward horizon.
