Description
Duckpool's steep shore and Atlantic exposure suit a room with a bolder coastal outlook, keeping the appeal of this Cornish beach in its rock and water rather than seaside bustle.
Loose stones spread across the lower shore around small pools. On the right, a high face of rock catches a warmer shade beneath its grass-covered edge. Dark blue clouds gather above the sea, where a low band of light turns the water brighter towards the left.
Duckpool is seen as a meeting of rocky foreshore and open ocean, with the beach edge held close to the cliff. The contrast between the darker overhead weather and the light at the horizon gives the view its pace. Someone who prefers a walk on an exposed coast to a crowded beach may find this a more familiar side of Cornwall.
