Description
Ebrington Hill in Warwickshire offers a high Cotswold outlook, with green and golden fields rolling towards purple horizons beneath a low sun and a richly coloured evening sky.
Ebrington Hill reaches 261 metres, making it Warwickshire's highest hill. It lies in the Cotswolds near the Gloucestershire boundary, between Ebrington, Mickleton and Ilmington, where the county's southern countryside rises into a landscape of broad slopes and far reaching views.
From beneath dark overhanging branches, the scene opens over large fields divided by hedges and tree belts. A pale lane curves towards a small barn, while a cluster of farm buildings stands farther right. The sun hangs above a mauve ridge, colouring clouds peach and rose. Ochre foreground soil and golden crops suggest the end of summer, with long shadows accentuating each fold of ground.
