Description
Evening colour over Ellesmere makes a gentle centrepiece for a restful room, with the mere's reflective surface recalling the pleasure of staying beside the water as daylight fades.
Twisted bare limbs spread across the lower bank among tall green blades and small plants. Across the pool, rounded trees create an uneven dark boundary. Peach highlights touch the cloud edges and fall in broken vertical streaks on the lavender surface below.
Ellesmere has a close relationship with its mere, where an ordinary walk can become an occasion simply because of the weather. The fallen wood gives this view a rough, natural counterweight to the luminous distance.
