The painting depicts a farmer standing beside a large bull. Pirosmani employs a flattened perspective, prioritising the symbolic presence of the figures over anatomical precision or depth. The bull, rendered in shades of terracotta and brown, occupies the majority of the frame, while the farmer stands to the right, holding a thin rod.
