Description
Fisherfield Forest frames an isolated sandstone peak beside a calm loch, with violet mountains and amber moorland giving the far north-west coast a strong presence.
Jagged dark crags rise almost vertically from the middle ground, their faces split by deep shadow and warm orange planes. A narrow inlet catches the low sun beneath the mountain range, while tufts of rough grass and scattered boulders fill the near slope. A small dark island sits quietly at the edge of the water.
Fisherfield Forest is valued for the scale and remoteness of its Highland ground. Walkers who have crossed its rough approaches, or watched changing weather move across the peaks, may recognise the pull between the sheltered inlet and the hard rock rising above it.
