This work is a detailed study of the famous Minoan fresco depicting flying fish, originally discovered at the site of Phylakopi on the island of Melos. The original Bronze Age wall painting is housed in the National Archaeological Museum in Athens. This reproduction captures the fluid, rhythmic movement of the marine creatures as they glide through a stylised aquatic environment. The artist employs a clear, graphic line to define the forms of the fish, mirroring the aesthetic sensibilities of the Aegean Bronze Age. In the original fresco, the composition is noted for its sense of motion and the decorative treatment of the sea.
