At Formby Point, a white lighthouse stands above dune grass and tidal sand, its dark lantern and pale tower giving the Sefton coast a calm, open horizon.

Cream paint catches the light along the tower's narrow shaft, while the glazed lantern sits beneath a dark cap and rail. A squared stone base meets a slope of sand, with long grasses casting fine shadows across the foreground. Beyond it, shallow water and bands of wet beach stretch towards a low green shore under layered cream clouds.

Formby Point has the measured space of a coast reached on foot, where paths leave the dunes for the tide line. Visitors can return to the tall beacon as a clear marker after a beach walk, while people from Sefton may recognise the familiar meeting of grass, sand and water.
