Description
Foyers beside Loch Ness in the Highlands glows in peach evening light, with dark conifers, scattered village houses and a small boat crossing the reflective water below wooded hills.
Foyers is a village on the eastern shore of Loch Ness, about twenty miles from Inverness. Its river descends through a wooded gorge before joining the loch. Paths connect the settlement with the Falls of Foyers and continue down towards the shore, linking the forested hillside with the water.
The scene looks across a broad gold and lavender surface towards a green peninsula lined with pale houses. A small dark vessel leaves a thin wake through the light. Tall conifers fill the near slope, with heather and leafy shrubs beneath them. Farther away, fields and scattered cottages interrupt dense forest below a row of rounded hills, suggesting a warm late summer sunset.
