Description
Glas Bheinn (Assynt) in the northern Highlands looks over blue lochs and broad ochre moor, with pale rocky summit ground and distant layered hills beneath a high scatter of white summer clouds.
In Assynt north of Inchnadamph, this 776 metre Corbett stands east of Loch Assynt. Its elevated plateau has steep rocky sides and extensive open ground. Routes approach from the road through the district, entering a landscape of corries and scattered lochs beneath the northern Highland mountains.
From Glas Bheinn (Assynt), a broad blue lochan fills the near hollow below pale broken rock and short tawny grass. A longer strip of water appears behind a low plateau, with a tiny pool between them. A pale road zigzags across the left moor. Dark crags mark the right slope, while sunlit ochre hills and bare ridges suggest a clear late summer day.
