Description
Glenashdale Falls sends a white curtain into a shadowed pool, framed by weathered masonry, sunlit foliage and a bright opening above the wooded ravine.
Fine spray rises from the central drop and softens the dark ripples below. Rectangular courses climb either side of the water, their recessed gaps contrasting with leafy branches spilling over the rim at Glenashdale Falls.
On Arran, this enclosed setting gives the waterfall a more intimate character than an open hillside cascade. The eye can rest on the foreground stones before following the wall lines upwards to the canopy and the clear patch of sky at the ravine's head. It holds the quarry-like textures alongside the sound of falling water.
