Description
Great Oak of Eardisley gives an ancient broad-trunked tree the whole foreground, its spreading crown rising over fenced Herefordshire fields in a warm, open country scene.
Deep fissures, knotted limbs and a hollow in the pale-grey trunk make the oak's age visible at close range. A simple timber fence crosses the grass at its base, while low green hills and small field boundaries soften into the distance.
