Description
Harrogate in North Yorkshire pairs its spa heritage with leafy gardens, where a glass-roofed pavilion, pale colonnade and still water sit beneath the warm colour of an evening sky.
Valley Gardens developed as part of Harrogate's spa landscape, providing somewhere to walk between taking the waters. The adjoining Bogs Field contains numerous mineral wells, linking these ornamental grounds to the springs that helped shape this North Yorkshire town.
A domed glass roof rises over the low pavilion, beside a curving pale colonnade softened by climbing greenery. Behind it, a larger building carries green roof details and small turrets. Pink flowers frame the lawn, and a dark rectangular pool reflects the warm sky. Full leaves and abundant blooms suggest late spring or summer, with peach light settling over the garden.
