Description
Haycock in Cumbria rises in snowy blue ridges above a gold green river valley, with bare near branches and rough stone walls beneath cream clouds in bright early spring afternoon light.
This western Lakeland fell rises beyond the River Liza in Ennerdale. The river runs through a long mountain valley, with wooded ground below the higher open slopes. From the lower riverside near Croasdale, the high ridge stands above the intervening fields and belts of conifer woodland.
Haycock has broad snowy upper ridges above gold green slopes and dark conifer belts. A blue river curves past low bushes below a line of bare or lightly budding trees. Rough stone boundary walls cross the near grass beside a tall leafless trunk. Bright cream clouds and snow remaining above the valley suggest an early spring afternoon in clear weather.
