Description
White water gives Killin its welcoming energy, a lively village prospect for those who enjoy finding mountain scenery and familiar stone crossings within the same short walk.
Two round arches cross a rocky channel beneath pale houses with tall chimneys. Broad slabs split the current into foaming ribbons at the front. Dark conifers rise beside golden deciduous trees, and three bare summits lift above the roofs beneath long cream clouds.
The Bridge of Dochart places Killin directly beside the river's movement. This close view is suited to an attachment formed during stops in the village, when the noise of the rapids accompanies a look towards the hills and the crossing becomes part of the day's experience. The current fills the valley.
