Description
Langdon Hill in Essex opens a high view across the tidal Thames, where green fields and wooded slopes lead towards the working river and its distant industrial skyline.
The country park at Langdon Hills covers about four hundred acres in south Essex. Its high ground provides panoramic views over the Thames Estuary and towards London, making the wooded hills an outlook across the much flatter river landscape below.
From Langdon Hill, the scene passes over green fields and tree belts towards a blue ribbon of water. Pale storage tanks and tall dockside cranes rise beyond clustered roofs, while low farm buildings sit nearer the viewer. White clouds leave generous areas of clear sky above the far bank. Full foliage and brightly lit pasture give the view a fresh summer appearance, joining countryside with the working estuary.
