Description
Loch Oich in the Highland Great Glen holds white sailing boats among soft blue reflections, with wooded islands and green mountain slopes surrounding the sheltered water on a bright summer day.
Loch Oich forms the highest water level of the Caledonian Canal, between Loch Ness and Loch Lochy in the Great Glen. The River Garry enters from the west, bringing water from Loch Garry. At its northern end, the River Oich continues towards Loch Ness through the next stretch of the glen.
Four white sailing boats rest on pale blue water, their tall masts reflected in broken vertical lines. Red navigation posts lead towards a low beacon in the centre, while small wooded islands divide the distance. A green slope with broadleaf trees rises at left, opposite dark pines. Bright grass, soft ripples and high white clouds suggest a still summer afternoon on the canal waterway.
