Long Barrow centres on a low stone chamber set into a grassy rise, its weathered uprights making a grounded counterpoint to the broad Cumbrian fells beyond.

Heather sweeps across the foreground in loose purple patches, leading towards a rounded turf-covered mound. Beyond it, a quilt of pale fields and dark boundaries descends beneath a wide blue fell, while high white cloud leaves plenty of open sky above the stones.
