Description
Longsands pairs a wide sweep of sand with rolling surf and the dramatic ruins above the headland, capturing a familiar Tyne and Wear shoreline under a spacious sky.
Dark rocks occupy the near shore, giving way to wet sand marked by slim bands of foam. The sea runs along the left edge, while a grassy slope carries broken stone walls and a tall roofless tower. Cream cloud banks build above the headland, leaving a broad field of blue over the beach.
Longsands is a place for long walks between Tynemouth and Cullercoats, where the weather and tide alter the shore from hour to hour. The scene carries that open coastal rhythm, linking the beach to the ruins on the rise and the sound of water at its edge.
