Description
Lorgill on Highland Skye descends through rose and green moor towards a silver blue sea, with a lone stone cottage and winding burn set between dark cliffs in late summer light.
Lorgill is a deserted settlement on Skye’s western Duirinish peninsula, reached through a glen leading towards the coast. Roofless stone buildings survive among the old township ground. A burn follows the valley, while the walk from Ramasaig provides a route into this exposed corner of the island.
A thin bright stream winds down the centre towards a narrow opening to the sea. Beside it stands a small grey cottage with a pale pitched roof, isolated on the green valley floor. Steep dark rock bands mark the left slope, with pink brown heather spread across the near hills. White cloud strips and warm light suggest a quiet late summer afternoon above the coast.
