Description
Luskentyre on Harris curves around pale sandbars and turquoise shallows, with scattered coastal houses below blue mountain ridges and grey foreground rocks catching the soft light of a summer afternoon.
On the western side of South Harris, this small settlement borders a broad sandy bay. Extensive dunes occupy its northern margin, while falling tides uncover sandbars and winding channels with views across the water towards Seilebost and the northern Harris mountains.
The shoreline at Luskentyre bends in a long S-shape between pale sand and blue-green water. Small waves form fine white edges along the shallows. White houses dot the distant slope below layered mountain peaks, while grey rocks interrupt the near grass. Cream clouds with lilac shadows suggest a bright summer afternoon, softened by passing shade across the bay.
