Description
Mam Tor 517 (Peak Cavern) follows a pale stone path along a steep green ridge, placing its broad summit above a patchwork of soft blue and green valleys.
A dark timber fence tracks the left edge of the winding path as it climbs from rough foreground stones towards the rounded top. Heather-toned patches break up the grassy slopes, while striated rock faces fall away on the right. Behind the summit, distant hills and enclosed fields are layered in blue-grey light beneath wide, brushed cloud formations.
For anyone drawn to the Peak District's high routes, Mam Tor 517 (Peak Cavern) brings the ascent into focus: a clear line forward, changing ground underfoot and the valley opening at either side. The ridge path remains the visual thread from the nearest boulders to the broad crown.
