Description
Markfield appears among Leicestershire's wooded slopes, where red-brick houses and tall leafy trees open beyond a grassy rise within the village's Charnwood and National Forest setting.
Within both Charnwood Forest and the National Forest, Markfield is a large Leicestershire village in the Hinckley and Bosworth district. These overlapping landscape settings give the village a connection to the county's wooded country as well as its wider network of towns and settlements.
The scene looks over a green grassy slope towards houses almost absorbed by trees. A tall trunk frames the left, balanced by a lighter tree on the right. Red brick and pale walls interrupt the canopy in small patches beneath cream clouds. Full leaves and warm yellow-green grass suggest summer daylight, with the sheltered roofs offering a softer contrast to the open foreground.
