Meall a' Choire Bhuidhe (Glen Shee) in Perthshire rises in a broad gold dome above dark conifer belts, with rust coloured heather beneath bright clouds on an early autumn afternoon.
This broad grassy hill stands between Glen Lochsie and Gleann Fearnach, in the uplands near Spittal of Glenshee. Conifer plantations occupy the lower glen below its rounded upper slopes. The surrounding country includes the track through Glen Shee and the open ridges around nearby Ben Earb.
Meall a' Choire Bhuidhe (Glen Shee) spreads a long gold shoulder above green folds in the valley. Dark conifer plantations follow the lower contours in two deep belts, leaving the upper hill open. Rust and purple heather surrounds large grey foreground boulders. Broad cream clouds brighten the blue sky, suggesting sunny afternoon weather at the start of autumn.
