Description
Meall Corranaich in Perthshire lifts its green crest over a winding stony burn and narrow grassy path beneath tall cream clouds in the clear sunshine of a summer afternoon.
This 1,069 metre summit forms part of the Ben Lawers mountain range. Although a steep ridge rises from the old visitor centre area, the usual approach starts northwest of the mountain at Lairig an Lochain. The ascent is often linked with neighbouring Meall a’ Choire Lèith across the upland slopes.
Meall Corranaich lifts a rugged green crest over the head of a long grassy hollow. Dark rock ribs mark its steep upper face, while a blue burn curves around pale stones below. A narrow brown footpath crosses the near turf towards the valley. Tall cream clouds cast patches of shade across the snowless hills, suggesting bright summer afternoon conditions.
